多样屋首席设计顾问Carsten Jörgensen

丹麦人，现居于瑞士，是世界著名的设计师，曾为宜家，星巴克，Bodum，shiangXia、无印良品等多个知名品牌提供设计与品牌咨询服务。在过去一年内，Carsten 在多样屋DDC（商品设计与研发中心）引导着一群激情而有创意的设计师，在年度设计大赛中屡获殊荣。

Carsten Jörgensen grows up and studies design in Denmark and now lives in Switzerland. He is a world wide reputable designer who have provided product design and brand consulting service to prestigious international brands like IKEA, Starbucks, Bodum, Hermés owned Chinese brand Shiang Xia, MUJI and a row of other esteemed Western and Asian brands. For more than a year, Carsten have successfully guided and schooled a team of passionate and creative designers in TAYOHYA’s design and product development team which lately have won honorable recognition in the prestigious “Successful Design” award in Shanghai.

DDC, which is short for Design and Development Center, is currently a team of 30 led by Carsten Jörgensen. It is here where our products are designed, sent to upstream for economical production and rigidly controlled in quality. It is here where our corporate identity is maintained and gift-box&pack are designed. It is here where first class international brands gather around to contribute to build a better life together with TAYOHYA.

多样屋的设计师设计任何商品，都需达到三个目标：实用、品质和美观。实用，意味着商品必须让生活更便利和舒适；品质，就是经久不坏，且生态环保；美观，意味着要赏心悦目，悦目是视觉的，赏心则是：设计让生活更舒适和惬意，让人与人的关系更愉悦和幸福。

以设计师姚蕾的凌质刀为例(查看>）。高级 钼钒钢 (MOV不锈钢 ) 材质，空心手柄，完美平衡，让您不管是切菜还是切肉，都可体验安逸的手感。刀具品质非凡、经久锋利，由顶级的专业厂商手工锻造而成。刀柄和刀身一体成型，不仅清洗方便，而且细菌无处藏身，让您健康无忧。另外，您可能没有察觉到的是：钼钒钢不易沾染难闻味道，让您在捣腾洋葱、大蒜或鱼时，减少刺鼻。姚蕾在简单而优美的刀型中，将实用和品质结合，同时又悉心给您最完美的使用体验。这就是 “设计让生活更美好”的诠释。

再举罗毅的盛世牡丹餐具为例(查看>）。这款餐具既结合了中国的传统，又是一套超具时尚魅力的现代餐具。它不仅是实用、品质和美观的完美结合，也渗透着深厚的中国文化：不管是佳节与家人团团圆圆、共享盛宴，还是平日与亲友欢聚一堂、觥筹交错，都在说明：我们都同属华人文化，有着自己独特的生活方式和理念。 所以，我经常提醒多样屋的设计师，一定要关心华人文化，关注华人日常生活，这样才能真正做到，设计让生活更美好。这就是多样屋的设计！

For Tayohya’s designers there are three elementary goals to reach when they set out on the venture to design a new product for Tayohya’s customer: Functionality, Durability and Aesthetic…keeping in mind a Chinese heritage. By functionality we understand that a product solve an everyday problem and make our everyday life easier and more convenient. By Durability we understand that things in today’s China must last longer and be produced in a way that is healthy and do not harm our shared environment. By Aesthetic we mean the beauty of things. That small extra that makes design a familiar, sensible and pleasing contribution to our everyday social relations and practical tasks.

Take as an example Yaoyao’s professional Chef’s Knife design: The knifes are made in durable stainless steel and is not too heavy but well-balanced offering the user a good and safe grip, cutting everything from vegetables to meat. These knifes cutting qualities are outstanding and long lasting due to the fact that it is hand forged by one of Chinas foremost manufactures of professional chef’s knifes. Forged in one peace and entirely sealed between the handle and the knife blade it is not only easy to clean, but dangerous bacteria’s will hardly find a place to survive and it assures you that your everyday cooking preparation is safe. And what you might not know: is that the stainless steel knife handles supposedly are neutralizing or reduce strong odors from the hands, present from handling ingredients such as garlic, onion or fish . I believe that Yaoyao have created a small masterpiece of design because she have comprised functionality and durability in one highly aesthetic and simple tool which do what you need to do in the best way. It is design for a better life!

Or take Toby’s Peony dinnerware. What Toby have created with the Peony dinnerware for Tayohya is that very difficult task to reach back into China’s rich cultural design history and transform it into one of China’s most noteworthy contemporary dinnerware’s. This is not just a functional, durable and Aesthetic design this is about tradition and history. This is about the Chinese family gathered around a festive table set with all the culinary delicatessen of the rich Chinese cuisine. It is about being together…it is about strong relations and deep emotions. About being Chinese and belonging to a culture. Because I wanted designers at Tayohya to care for their cultural heritage, everyday life by creating better design and “your” way to a better life. It is what Tayohya design is all about!
